Social Driver continues to receive recognition as a leading LGBTQ-owned business that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Washington Business Journal again ranked Social Driver as one of the top LGBTQ-Owned Companies in the Greater Washington region at #4.
“I am honored for our company to be featured in the Washington Business Journal’s 2020 ranking of LGBTQ-Owned Companies,” said Thomas Sanchez, CEO of Social Driver. “At Social Driver, we demonstrate that diversity is a benefit, and inclusion is good for business.”
Social Driver was founded in D.C., with offices across the country, including in Kansas City, Mo., Bellingham, Wash., and Detroit. The Washington Business Journal’s ranking is the latest recognition that Social Driver is a leading LGBTQ-owned company. Social Driver is also a past recipient of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s “Supplier of the Year” award, the top honor for an LGBTQ-owned business in the United States.
“As the CSO of a Certified LGBTQ-owned Business Enterprise, I am proud that Social Driver celebrates diversity in many ways — from our staff to the work we do with our clients to the causes we support in the community,” said Anthony Shop, Social Driver Chief Strategy Officer.
As part of its work with the world’s leading organizations, Social Driver helps its clients to elevate their diversity efforts, including celebrating Pride and heritage months. Social Driver also led the strategic naming and branding process for the Modern Military Association of America, the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to education, advocacy and support for LGBTQ service members, military spouses, veterans, family members and allies.
Besides celebrating diversity in the workplace and throughout its client work, Social Driver has given to and helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for The Trevor Project through The Driver Foundation. Sanchez serves on The Trevor Project’s Board of Directors and is Secretary of the nonprofit corporation, which is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ people under 25.
Sanchez was also selected by Business Equality Pride Magazine (BEQ Pride) as one of its annual 40 LGBTQ Leaders Under 40 this year and included on the OUTstanding 100 LGBT+ Executives List. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Innovation and Technology Inclusion Council for the D.C. Mayor’s Office, which aims to grow the District’s tech economy in an inclusive manner and increase the number of jobs and high-technology businesses in the District.
Social Driver is also active in the LGBT business community and is a member of the Equality Chamber of Commerce in D.C., the Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce in Kansas City, and the Greater Seattle Business Association.
