The Washington Business Journal included Social Driver in its Corporate Diversity Index for Small Companies, ranking it as one of the most diverse companies in Greater D.C.
The Corporate Diversity Index is a new initiative by the Washington Business Journal that tracks diversity in companies across Greater D.C. The Index takes into consideration multiple factors, including the percentage of staff, C-Suite, and owners who identify as people of color.
“Across 2020, we were told many times that for diversity, equity and opportunity to be more than mere buzzwords, we must align them with measurable, achievable goals. And we must track those goals — where we fall short, what is working well,” said Carolyn Proctor, Washington Business Journal’s data editor.
Proctor hopes that as the Index grows, companies big and small will share best practices that have helped them become more diverse and inclusive.
Social Driver was also named the country’s #1 digital marketing agency by Clutch, the leading data-driven field guide for B2B buying and hiring decisions.
“As the CEO of a minority-owned business, I am honored that our company was included in the Washington Business Journal’s Corporate Diversity Index,” said Thomas Sanchez, CEO and Co-founder of Social Driver. “At Social Driver, we know that diversity makes us a stronger and more creative company. From diversity training, to creating employee resource groups to reexamining our hiring practices, we are always asking how we can create a more inclusive culture.”
Sanchez has also joined a community of Black and Latinx high-growth company leaders and leading entrepreneurs through his participation in the inaugural cohort of the Ernst & Young LLP (EY) Entrepreneurs Access Network (EAN). EY EAN is a business accelerator and comprehensive, executive-level program designed to elevate scalable Black and Latinx-owned companies through access to mentors, resources and networks.
“As a diverse-owned company, the program is coming along at a great time for our business,” Sanchez said. “I have met business leaders who are all facing the same challenges, but by working together we can create a brighter future for everyone.”
