Juan Carlos Baires, an invaluable member of our web development team since 2019, passed away recently after battling Covid-19. Juan leaves behind his wife, three young children (ages 2, 5, and 10), and a loving family. A GoFundMe has been created to support his family.

Juan served for almost four years in the Army as a diesel technician before entering website development. He attended school at Montgomery College and took full stack development classes at General Assembly. After graduating, Juan began working as a website developer at Social Driver, first as a contractor before being hired full time.

Juan’s attention to detail, diagnostic skills, and teamwork were hallmarks of his work style — all traits he said helped guide him throughout his Army service. Juan was known as a go-to problem-solver who could adapt to whatever challenges arose. 

“I remember his interview over a year ago where he chuckled when I asked him to point out the one thing he wished he could change about a website he built. I saw a steadfast, hard-worker, and eventually hired him because of it. Over the past year, I watched him grow professionally. He was always the first developer to start the workday, sometimes as early as 6-7 am. I know he would be proud of his accomplishments, and the team at Social Driver will miss him dearly,” said Dylan Fitzgerald, Director of Web Development

Juan worked hard to make the websites he built shine, and his efforts are evident. He most recently worked on websites for Technical Assistance Collaborative and Digital Licensee Coordinator. He also worked closely with many clients to ensure their websites were updated and running smoothly. 

“Juan made tremendous contributions to Social Driver and to our clients during his tenure with us, and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts remain with his wife and children, who could use some support during this difficult time,” said Thomas Sanchez, CEO and Co-founder of Social Driver.
